Thanks to Professor Parvizi and the team at the ICM, we were able to reach out to sites who are interested in starting a standardized PJI database with the intention of improving intranational collaboration.

We are pleased to share that 106 sites from 47 countries have now begun their journey toward joining ODIN, representing an exciting and truly global commitment to improving outcomes for patients with prosthetic joint infections.

This remarkable level of engagement highlights a shared recognition of the urgent need to address the challenges posed by PJIs. The diversity of participating centres, spanning a wide range of healthcare systems, experiences, and expertise, sets the stage for robust, collaborative research that reflects real-world clinical practice.

As these sites start to establish their local databases, with the aim of contributing to a global network, we anticipate a substantial increase in high-quality data and research output, which will help fill the current evidence gaps that limit our ability to guide treatment.

By standardising data collection and fostering international collaboration, ODIN aims to generate insights that can inform clinical decision-making, shape policy, and ultimately improve patient outcomes.

This is an important first step in what we hope will be a sustained and coordinated global effort to reduce the burden of PJIs, and we are incredibly grateful to all who have chosen to be part of this journey.
